A Community Remembrance Ritual

At Crossroads, we know the immense role that both ritual and community play in grief. Grief is not meant to be experienced alone, nor is it meant to be contained. Grief is to be expressed, shared, and witnessed.

Pebbles & Petals: A Community Remembrance Ritual is our summertime remembrance ceremony that brings ritual and community into the healing power of nature. It is meant to offer grievers a chance to connect with their grief, their loved one, and the natural world. 

​

In June 2023, over 70 participants spent a Sunday morning steeped in sunlight, birdsong and community as we remembered, together. Participants shared they felt the ceremony was genuine, heartfelt and comforting; the ritual was meaningful and powerful, the atmosphere was beautiful.
