Robin Craig Memorial Ride

"Robin, your legacy lives on."

Robin Craig was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Known to be a man of integrity, honesty and diplomacy, ‘Grandpa Bird’ and Valerie, his wife of 23 years, shared passions of camping, hiking, riding motorcycles and entertaining friends. Robin truly enjoyed working for 29 years with CDC Construction and was looking forward to his well-earned retirement before cancer took his life in October 2018.

While working on a renovation for BC Housing in 1995 he met Valerie, his love. They were married in 2004 and shared 23 happy years together, camping, hiking, entertaining friends and family at their Port Moody home that had been lovingly renovated by Robin. They also loved spending time on their motorcycle enjoying many rides throughout BC, Alberta and the United States.

Robin was looking forward to a well earned retirement before cancer took his dream away. Robin truly enjoyed his work with CDC and was proud of the projects he completed, many of which he would point out while driving around the Lower Mainland. He met so many colleagues that became friends during his time there.

He was a master carpenter and besides all the meticulous projects he completed on the home, he also built many beautiful pieces of furniture, which was on display at his Celebration of Life.

Gone but not forgotten, the Robin Craig Memorial Ride was established to raise funds in support of the Crossroads Hospice Society.

Chris Holman, one of CDC’s Principals and a fellow avid motorcyclist, led family, friends and colleagues on a ride to Kelowna. The event was a huge success with over $12,000 being raised in Robin’s memory.

On Wednesday October 14th, Crossroads Hospice Society had the opportunity to meet Valerie, Chris, Warren and the CDC Construction family to hear memorable stories from the 2nd Annual Ride.

We are at a loss for words to describe how grateful we are to Robin’s family, friends and CDC Construction family.

We are honoured to witness Robin’s legacy that lives on.
